DR. GRIFFON’S HYGIENE RECOMMENDATIONS

Dr. Griffon recommends that you follow the GGD (Griffon’s Gentle Dental) Standards to achieve a healthy mouth!

TOOTHBRUSH: 

The GGD recommended toothbrush is SONICARE DIAMOND CLEAN

Uses ultrasonic vibrations to remove plaque, bacteria and stains

Includes a counter charger, USB travel charger and 2.5 year warranty

Available at GGD for $158, $20 rebate (retails for $200+ at Amazon, Wal-Mart & Target)

If you use a manual toothbrush, we recommend NIMBUS; if not, make sure it has EXTRA SOFT bristles

 

TOOTHPASTE:

The GGD recommended OTC toothpaste is CREST PLAIN or SENSODYNE PRONAMEL REPAIR (SLS FREE)

Check the RDA-relative dentin abrasiveness that will wear away the enamel of your teeth and the glaze of porcelain crowns/veneers, which will darken them over time

 

The GGD recommended prescription toothpaste is CARIFREE PROGEL 5000 ($21) OR

             MI PASTE ONE ($21) (NO MI PASTE IF MILK SENSITIVITY)

           

FLOSS:

The GGD recommended floss is COCO FLOSS ($10) or ORAL B GLIDE

Daily flossing cleans the cavity-prone areas between your teeth and between your teeth and gums where lots of gingivitis, cavities, and periodontitis-causing bacteria hide

 

WATERPIK:

The GGD recommended waterpik is any of the WATERPIK brand models

If daily flossing is prohibitive either from dexterity, physical limitations, or self-discipline, a waterpik is a great alternative

ORAL RINSE: 

The GGD recommended oral rinse is ORACARE ($38)

Contains chlorine dioxide and kills bacteria

 

FLUORIDE VARNISH:

The GGD recommends that you ask for a FLUORIDE VARNISH at your next checkup ($38)

Strengthens enamel, protects from cavities and reduces sensitivity
